Karn Sharma Comes In As Impact Player After RCB Post 212 Runs On Board

After the Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell went gung-ho in the first innings, Royal Challengers Bangalore have opted for the wily leg-spinner Karn Sharma as their Impact Player in the clash against Lucknow Super Giants.

Karn has substituted Anuj Rawat into the Playing XI, after the southpaw didn't get his chance to go past the Lucknow bowlers in Chinnaswamy. 

Lucknow, on the flip side, brought in young batter Ayush Badoni in place of Amit Sharma, who took the prized wicket of Virat Kohli at 61 earlier in the game.

The experienced leg-spinner has been Bangalore's best bet in bowling in the tournament, scalping two each wickets in both games he has played in IPL 2023.

Talking about the match, Kohli and du Plessis got off the mark sharply for RCB, sharing 96 runs for the opening stand, where the former registered his 46th IPL fifty and the latter played second fiddle.

Later Du Plessis got partnered by Glenn Maxwell, and the dual just thrashed the LSG bowlers on will. The Big Show registered a quickfire 59 off just 29 deliveries, while the RCB skipper scored an unbeaten 79 off 46 balls, amongst which he clubbed a 115-meter sixer.

At the time of writing, the Super Giants have begun their chase but lost Kyle Mayers in the first over itself off Mohammed Siraj, but KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda are there in the middle.
