India's eastern neighbour Nepal has been rising on the cricket field, with their performances improving significantly on a regular basis. Most prominently, after beating the United Arab Emirates in the ICC Asian qualifiers held in November last year to secure their place in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, to be held in the Caribbean and the USA.

Due to their improving performances, India's External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar, who recently went to Nepal to strengthen India's ties with its neighbour, also met with their national team players.

It was later revealed that during the interaction between Jaishankar and Nepal cricketers, the former congratulated them for their T20 World Cup qualification while adding that India will fully support their side to prepare for the mega-event that will feature a total of 20 teams for the first time.

"Delighted to interact with members of the Nepal Cricket team & @CricketNep. Congratulated them on qualifying for the T20 World Cup. Assured them of India's support in their preparations. Underlined our commitment to the growth of cricket in Nepal."

Further, some reports also claim that Jaishankar has offered Nepal Cricket an official home ground to play in India, however, it still remains unverified.

To the unversed, EAM S Jaishankar was on a 2-day visit to Nepal for the 7th India-Nepal Joint Commission meeting held in Kathmandu with the Foreign Minister of Nepal NP Saud.

Coming back to cricket, Nepal has had a great time on the field in the recent past, but now it remains to be seen how they perform in the multilateral event to be held in June.
