Team India is having a dream run in the ongoing 2023 World Cup, being the only team in the entire tournament to enter the semifinals undefeated. They won all nine group stage matches and finished at the top of the points table.

One of the primary drivers behind their tournament dominance is the effectiveness of their bowling unit, specifically the pace attack featuring Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah.

Siraj, who had a quiet start to the tournament, turned the tables with a strong comeback, showcasing his menacing form in the recent matches. His three-wicket haul against Sri Lanka was undeniably one of the tournament's standout moments.

India's bowling coach Paras Mhambrey showered praise on Mohammed Siraj's tournament display, especially applauding the addition of a new weapon to his arsenal, the wobble seam.

Here’s what Paras Mhambrey said:

"Siraj has really kind of grown in the last couple of years. He’s understood his bowling, obviously coming through the ranks. He’s started using a different set of skills, the wobble seam."

Siraj has picked up 12 wickets in nine matches at an economy rate of around 5.20.  Mhambrey added:

"Initially, he had the ball coming into the batsman, right-handers but now he shapes the ball away. He has the ability and smartness to use the wobble seam and that also worked."

Team India is all set to clash with New Zealand, their old foes, in the World Cup 2023 semis on November 15 at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai. It's a big deal for India, looking to settle the score after that 2019 World Cup upset against the Kiwis.
