Team India's journey in the ongoing World Cup 2023 has been relentless, marked by a strong start, consistent brilliance, and an undefeated record in all eight matches, making them the first team to advance to the semifinals.

Team India's last group stage match is with the Netherlands on the upcoming Sunday (Nov 12) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, but it's more like a casual warm-up game since India's booked their spot in the semis, and the Netherlands are out of contention.

The Men in Blue are all set to face their old rivals, New Zealand, in the first semi-final on November 15 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. New Zealand finished in fourth position on the points table, winning five out of the nine matches they played.

What if the first semi-final between India and New Zealand gets washed out?

For the semi-final and final, a reserve day is there to resume any unfinished matches from the scheduled day. If the match still doesn't finish after the reserve day, the team with a higher league stage position will move forward to the next round.

The playing hours on the Reserve Day will be the same as on the scheduled day for a match (including the extra time provision of 120 minutes).

For a valid result, each team needs to bat for a minimum of 20 overs. On Reserve Day, the play picks up from where the last ball was played on the scheduled day.

Extra Time Available

In knockout matches, there's an extended provision of 120 minutes of extra time on the scheduled day, unlike the standard 60-minute rule for regular group matches.

Super Over Rule

In case of a tie in the semi-final, a super-over will decide the team advancing to the final. If weather disrupts the Super Over, the team with a higher position on the points table will move on to the final.
