In a troubling case of negligence and poor hygiene, the entire Indian contingent, fresh from their World Cup victory, were served meals on paper plates and required to queue up for food in Barbados.

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team remains stranded in Barbados due to a hurricane warning named ‘Beryl’, resulting in the cancellation of all outbound flights and the closure of the airport. Originally scheduled to depart on July 1, the team now faces a situation where Barbados is under high alert.

The airport is expected to remain closed until noon on Monday (BST), reopening only after the hurricane threat diminishes. Alongside the airport closure, all hotels, restaurants, and shops in Barbados have shut down, further complicating the team India's stay.

According to the latest report from RevSportz, players are queuing for meals served on paper plates. Due to the emergency conditions, no players or staff have permission to leave their accommodations. The shortage of staff has necessitated the use of paper plates for meal service.

The BCCI has recently pledged to provide full assistance to Team India, support staff, and the media team in leaving Barbados once the hurricane conditions improve.

Reflecting on the final match, India secured a thrilling seven-run victory over South Africa to claim their second T20 World Cup title and their first since 2007.

Next on India's agenda is a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. The second-string Indian team led by Shubman Gill will include players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube, all of whom were part of the World Cup-winning team.
