Yuvraj Singh to join LSG as head coach for IPL 2026: Report

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh will likely become the next head coach of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise, as reported by the InsideSport. The report indicated that LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka is currently in talks with Yuvraj to replace former Australian opening batter Justin Langer as team’s new head coach. It is worth noting that the franchise also recently parted ways with Zaheer Khan as team mentor, and roped in legendary New Zealand batter Kane Williamson as a strategic advisor.

Shreyas Iyer provides major injury update

Senior Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has provided a major update regarding his injury through a post on his Instagram account. The cricketer said that he is currently in a recovery process, and is “getting better with every passing day”. Shreyas Iyer recently sustained a nasty rib injury while completing a catch for Team India against Australia in the third ODI of the three-match series at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) earlier this week. As per reports, Iyer’s injury might keep him out of action for at least two months, thus jeopardizing his chances of playing India’s white-ball series against South Africa.

Abhishek Nayar named KKR head coach for IPL 2026

Former Indian cricketer Abhishek Nayar has been appointed as the new head coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise. He will be replacing Chandrakant Pandit, who served the KKR as head coach since 2022 up until the 2025 edition earlier this year. KKR CEO Venky Mysore welcomed Abhishek Nayar’s ascension in the franchise and applauded him for his contribution in developing KKR players as assistant coach over the past few years. Nayar will now be working alongside Dwayne Bravo, who became KKR mentor prior to the 2025 edition of the tournament.

Young Australian cricketer passed away after getting hit on the neck

Young Australian talent Ben Austin lost his life after getting hit on his neck. The aspiring cricketer was batting in the nets at the Ferntree Gully Cricket Club during a training session. During his session, a ball from the wanger struck him on the neck, the one spot that was left unprotected at the time of the incident. Cricket Victoria’s head Nick Cummins confirmed the heartbreaking tragedy, and the cricket official even compared the unfortunate incident with the demise of late Australian cricketer Phil Hughes.

India knock Australia out to reach World Cup 2025 final

Jemimah Rodrigues plundered 127* from 134 balls, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur compiled 89 off 88, as the two Indian cricketers helped India Women mow down Australia’s monumental 338 with nine balls and five wickets to spare in the second semifinal of the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup. The outcome helped India set up a final date with fellow maiden title-chasers South Africa at the same Navi Mumbai venue, and the result also halted Australia’s unbeaten World Cup juggernaut since 2022. For Australia, young opener Phoebe Litchfield unfurled a record knock of 119 from 93 balls earlier in the game.
