Punjab Kings (PBKS), the popular IPL franchise, have found themselves in the middle of a social media storm after their Asia Cup post. In a graphic about the upcoming India vs Pakistan clash, they removed Pakistan’s flag, inviting backlash.

India will face Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 Group A clash on September 14 at the Dubai International Stadium. However, Indian fans are heavily opposing the contest due to severed ties between the two countries over terrorist attacks.

PBKS Trolled For India - Pakistan Post

Meanwhile, in the lead-up to the Asia Cup 2025 contest between India and Pakistan, PBKS shared a graphic post on social media. But fans quickly noticed something unusual that the Pakistan flag was missing from the post.

Instead, only the Indian flag and the Asia Cup logo were shown. This odd omission led to a flood of funny and sarcastic reactions on X (formerly Twitter).

Some fans joked that India would now be facing “John Cena” because, just like the WWE superstar’s catchphrase, the Pakistan flag was nowhere to be seen, “You can’t see me!”

Others accused PBKS of being careless with their design, while a few pointed out that in cricket, respecting both nations’ identities is important, especially in a tournament as big as the Asia Cup.

Despite pushback from fans, the Indo-Pak Asia Cup clash is expected to go on as planned. Citing geopolitical reasons, the Indian government and BCCI refused to intervene in the pre-decided schedule.

That being said, India and Pakistan could also compete more than once in the Asia Cup 2025. If they qualify for the knockout stages, the rivals might end up facing each other in the finals as well.
