Team India is eyeing a big record as they prepare for the third T20I match against Australia. Their commanding 44-run victory in the second T20I not only secured a 2-0 series lead but also marked their 135th T20I win, equaling Pakistan’s tally.

The Men in Blue reached this milestone in just 211 matches compared to arch-rivals Pakistan's 226. This win propels India to the summit of T20I cricket alongside their traditional rivals. Following closely are New Zealand with 102 wins in 200 games, South Africa with 95 in 171, and Australia with 94 in 179 at third, fourth and fifth place respectively.

Set to face Australia in Guwahati, India stands on the brink of surpassing Pakistan’s record for the most T20I wins. Poised to secure their 136th victory, India will have the opportunity to rewrite history.

Tied with Pakistan at 135 wins in 211 games, India have the chance to claim the top spot with their 136th win. Pakistan shares the same number of wins, achieved in 226 matches. In T20Is, the Indian team already holds a special record. They're on an unbeaten streak of 12 series on home turf, with their last loss against Australia in February 2019.

Under Suryakumar Yadav's captaincy, India delivered outstanding performances and outclassed Australia in the first two T20Is, securing a win by two wickets in the opening match. In the second game, a formidable batting display led to a 44-run victory, setting the pace with 235 runs, while Australia managed 191 runs, losing nine wickets.

The ongoing series has seen Indian batters dominating the opposition bowlers. Ishan Kishan's consecutive half-centuries, along with contributions from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Suryakuma have showcased the team’s strength.

India’s young brigade has proven challenging for Australia in the first two games. A win at the Barsapara Stadium will secure a series victory, a significant boost with the T20 World Cup approaching. While odds heavily favor India, the Aussies, fighting to stay alive in the series, are expected to raise their game in the third T20I.
