In a historic moment for Indian cricket, the Men in Blue scripted a new chapter in T20 International history by matching Pakistan's record for the most wins in the format.

Team India achieved huge T20I milestone with convincing victory over Australia

India's emphatic 44-run victory over Australia in the second T20I at Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday was more than just a match win; it was a milestone that propelled them to a commanding 2-0 lead in the five-match series and equalled Pakistan’s tally of 135 T20I victories.

However, India's achievement is highlighted by efficiency as they reached this landmark in just 211 matches, compared to Pakistan's 226. This places India at the pinnacle of T20I cricket, alongside their traditional rivals, in terms of wins. Trailing behind these two giants are New Zealand with 102 wins in 200 games, South Africa with 95 in 171, and Australia with 94 in 179.

Coming to the game, it was a display of India's batting brilliance, with the team amassing a massive total of 235/4 in their 20 overs. This performance was highlighted by half-centuries from Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ishan Kishan.

Rinku Singh also played a crucial cameo, blasting 31 runs off just nine balls, demonstrating the depth and aggression in the Indian batting lineup. Nathan Ellis, with figures of 3/45, was the standout bowler for Australia.

Australia's response, while spirited, fell short as they managed 191-9 in their innings. Despite the fighting knocks from Marcus Stoinis and an unbeaten effort by Matthew Wade, the Australian batting lineup couldn't keep up with the high asking rate.

Indian bowlers, particularly Ravi Bishnoi and Prasidh Krishna, who both bagged three wickets each, were instrumental in stifling the Australian chase.
