We are still in Day 3 of the Perth Test match between India and Australia and already the home team is facing the heat as they need to climb a mountain in the fourth innings to beat the Indian side to take a lead.
India's lead has already crossed the 400-run mark and judging by Australia's batting in the first innings, the hosts will need to bat out of their skins to steal the win from this precarious situation.
After getting bundled out for a paltry 150 on Day 1, India have roared back and knocked over the Aussies for just 104, with Jasprit Bumrah picking up a 5-wicket haul. In reply, the Indian openers, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 201 runs for the first wicket and Jaiswal even went onto score a scintillating 161.
Courtesy of his knock, and contributions from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli, India have a lead well beyond 400 and the Aussies will need to produce a miracle to win.

So far, the Perth Stadium has hosted just 4 games, and interestingly, all four games have been won by the side batting first. Meanwhile, the highest fourth innings score at this venue was achieved by West Indies, as they scored 333 runs. However, they went onto lose the contest by 164 runs.
Even if Australia breach West Indies' 333, that wouldn't be enough for a win as India are clearly eyeing a 500-run lead.
Kohli is eager to breach the 50-run mark and he is getting ample support from Washington Sundar who is batting well at 14.
