As the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 heats up, all eyes are on the semi-final clash between India and Australia. With a $6.9 million prize pool at stake, the stakes are higher than ever. But what happens to the teams that fall short in these high-pressure semi-finals? While the ultimate champions will secure a hefty $2.24 million, the losing semi-finalists won’t walk away empty-handed.
India and Australia are playing against each other in the ongoing semi-final at Dubai International Stadium. This match holds significance as both teams are determined to reach the Champions Trophy final. So, in this article, let's see how much money the team eliminated in the 1st semi-finals will get.
How Much Money Will The Losing Semi-Finalists Get?
The ICC has set aside a massive prize pool for the Champions Trophy 2025, with a total of $6.9 million on the line. It is important to mention that while the winning team will receive $2.24 million and the runners-up will pocket $1.12 million, the losing semi-finalists are far from being left out.
Each losing team from the semi-finals will be awarded $560,000 (approximately Rs 4.89 crore) in prize money. This means even if India or Australia or South Africa or New Zealand falls short in their respective semi-finals, they will walk away with a substantial sum.
Following the India-Australia clash on Tuesday, South Africa will take on New Zealand on Wednesday in the second semi-final. The winners of these two highly anticipated matches will battle it out for the title in the final on Sunday, March 9.
