Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma was recently honoured at the Consulate General of India in New York, marking a significant recognition of his contributions to cricket and his role as a cultural ambassador for India.

The Indian cricket team led by veteran batter Rohit Sharma is touring USA for their Group stages games of the 2024 T20 World Cup.

That being said, ahead of the USA games concluded on Wednesday, the Indian cricket team along with head coach and support staff were invited for a dinner party at Indian Consulate General office in New York.

Rohit Sharma and Co. met with some influential personalities from various walks of life to share valuable insights of their respective worlds.

Meanwhile, before the dinner gala started, Indian consulate general officials felicitated captain Rohit Sharma with a memento. Rohit also took the podium for a short speech, and he thanked the Consulate General for hosting them in New York City.

This recognition not only celebrates Rohit’s illustrious career but also his broader contributions to society, making him a true icon of modern sports.

Meanwhile, India’s final group game against Canada is under threat as the city of Miami is witnessing flooding rains. The city is submerged under water as heavy rainfall is expected to continue for the entire week.

While India’s qualification is secured, multiple washouts will rule Pakistan out of the competition.
