Harmanpreet Kaur To Lead Star-Studded Indian Team In Women's Asia Cup 2024

BCCI have announced the much-awaited squad of India Women for Asia Cup 2024 with Harmanpreet Kaur set to lead a strong unit of 15 in Sri Lanka.

The tournament is scheduled to start on 19th of July and India will play the second game of the opening day against Pakistan. Smriti Mandhana is the vice-captain of the side and she would have to play a big role with the bat along with captain Harmanpreet Kaur.

The likes of Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh will form the crux of the batting order along with captain and vice-captain, and overall India have a strong arsenal at their disposal.

Uma Chetry is the second wicketkeeper in the squad while Renuka Singh Thakur, Pooja Vastrakar and Arundhati Reddy are three pacers in the 15. Asha Sobhana, Shreyanka Patil and Radha Yadav form the spin-bowling arsenal while there are four reserves as well which includes Shweta Sehrawat, Saika Ishaque, Tanuja Kanwer and Meghna Singh.

India are the reigning champions and are placed in Group A which include U.A.E and Nepal along with Pakistan. The Group B include Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Thailand and all the matches of the tournament will be played in Dambulla.
