Abhishek Sharma was one of the brightest stars in IPL 2024 and set the stage on fire with his power-hitting at the top of the order. He was expected to do the same on his India debut against Zimbabwe, but the young lad failed to deliver and departed in the very first over for a four-ball duck.

It was a short ball on the off-stump line by Brian Bennett and Abhishek Sharma rocked back to smash it over the fence for his first runs in international cricket. However, the ball got slightly big on him and he ended up mistiming it as the ball went straight into the hands of Wellington Masakadza at deep square leg.

India's Bowling Performance & Abhishek Sharma's Debut 

It was a great start for the home team after they scored just 115 in the first innings courtesy a four-wicket haul by Ravi Bishnoi. Sikandar Raza, the captain of the side too should be credited as he gave the first over to an off-spinner against the left-hander Abhishek Sharma and the plan worked wonders.

Earlier, Abhishek Sharma also bowled two overs for 17 runs, and it has turned out to be quite a disappointing start to the international career for the Punjab youngster.
