To add a twist to this festive season, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya gifted himself a giant shiny ring with the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy engraved in it. Pandya shared images of this special customised ring on social media to remind everyone, including himself, that he is indeed a World Cup winner.
Hardik Pandya, one of the most controversial Indian cricketers, shut down his haters by winning the 2024 T20 World Cup for India on June 29 in Barbados. He defended 16 runs off the final over to become a World Cup winner and an overnight hero for fans who criticised him during IPL 2024 just weeks before. Pandya was trolled day in and out after he replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain of Mumbai Indians. However, the all-rounder had the perfect reply and an inspiring redemption story.

That being said, this festival season, Hardik Pandya gifted himself a customised ring. In a photo shared on social media, Pandya flaunted a shiny ring which had the T20 World Cup trophy engraved on it. The outer layer of the ring was also customised with letters ‘World Champion.’
Hardik Pandya was recently retained by Mumbai Indians for the upcoming IPL 2025 season. The franchise confirmed that Pandya will captain the team irrespective of the negative public sentiment. Besides Pandya, MI also retained Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Tilak Varma, and Suryakumar Yadav. MI spent a total of INR 75 crore on retentions and will enter the mega auction with a remaining purse of INR 45 crore and 1 RTM card.
Pandya remains unavailable for Test cricket
Despite practising with red ball, Hardik Pandya’s much awaited Test return is not on the cards anytime soon. His fitness is still not good enough for red ball cricket and hence BCCI insists on restricting his presence to white-ball formats. Having not played a Test since 2018, Hardik was snubbed off the 18-member Indian squad for the upcoming Test series against Australia as emerging all-rounder Nitish Reddy received his maiden Test call up instead.
