Babar Azam has contributed his bat to the prestigious Long Room of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The legendary Pakistan batter was recently invited by the MCG authorities for the cause, and he donated the same bat he used during Pakistan’s 2022 T20 World Cup final match against eventual winners England.
Babar Azam is currently in Melbourne alongside the rest of his national teammates as the Pakistan team is slated to commence its white-ball series at the city’s iconic venue on November 4.

Babar Azam’s bat is now a part of the prestigious Long Room collection of the MCG. For his contribution towards the sport, the legendary Pakistani batter was recently invited by the venue’s authorities.
Upon donating his bat, Babar expressed his pride by sharing an appreciative caption on social media. Sharing pictures of himself at the MCG, the former Pakistan captain wrote:
“Honored to have my bat among legends at the @MCG Long Room”
The Long Room collection of the MCG already features bats of several legendary cricketers like Brian Lara, Jack Hobbs, David Boon and Sir Donald Bradman.
A couple of days ago, Babar Azam landed in Australia as the Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to play a series of three ODIs and three T20I matches against the hosts. The series serves as a critical dress rehearsal for both sides ahead of next year’s 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
The first ODI of the series will be played at the MCG on November 4 before the action shifts to the Adelaide Oval for the second game on November 8. The final ODI will be played at the Perth Stadium on November 10 and the tour will conclude with three T20Is in Brisbane, Sydney and Hobart on November 14, 16 and 18 respectively.
