Hardik Pandya Congratulates Jay Shah After BCCI Secretary Gets Elected As ICC Chairman

Jay Shah, the current BCCI secretary has been appointed as the ICC chairman and will take over the position from Greg Barclay from December 1, 2024. He was the sole nominee for the position, and has been elected unopposed by 16 board members of ICC.

The son of Indian home minister is the youngest chairman of ICC and has been applauded from all corners for his work as BCCI secretary. Naturally, the Indian cricket fraternity is happy with his appointment as ICC chairman and Hardik Pandya who also hails from Gujarat has now congratulated Jay Shah for his appointment as apex body head.

Hardik posted on his official X handle, stating that he is looking forward to seeing Jay Shah taking cricket to even greater height as ICC chairman and expressed confidence that current BCCI secretary's vision will help ICC grow just like it has worked wonders for BCCI in the last couple of years.

Jay Shah's Swift Rise As Cricket Administrator

Jay Shah started his journey as a cricket administer back in 2009 as Gujarat Cricket Association's Executive Board Member. He held that post for four years, and then became the joint secretary of GCA from 2013 to 2015.

The Gujarat administrator then turned his focus towards national cricket and was in BCCI's finance and marketing committee from 2015 to 2019. After four years in that committee, he was finally made the Secretary of BCCI and garnered widespread popularity for his bold decisions and variety of reforms.

He has now moved to the top position in the apex governing body of cricket, and cricketing world would be hoping that his tenure as the chairman takes cricket to greater heights.
