The Gujarat Titans franchise have announced BR Sharath as their replacement for young wicketkeeper-batsman Robin Minz, after the latter was ruled out of the IPL 2024 season.

Sharath recently represented Karnataka in the 2023 Vijay Hazare Trophy, and has so far featured in 28 T20 matches throughout his professional career.

Robin Minz garnered much headlines at the IPL 2024 auction last year, when he was acquired by the Gujarat Titans franchise for a staggering sum of Rs.3.60 crore.

While Minz was all set to become the first tribal cricketer to feature in IPL, he met an unfortunate bike accident just weeks prior to the 2024 season.

While his resultant injury has now ruled him out of IPL 2024, the Gujarat Titans franchise have signed in Karnataka wicketkeeper-batsman BR Sharath as his replacement.

Just a day prior to the announcement, the Titans management also signed Sandeep Warrier as their replacement for seasoned fast bowler Mohammed Shami. The ace Indian paceman recently underwent surgery for his right heel problem and is currently undergoing rehabilitation in a bid to attain full recovery.

The Gujarat Titans franchise, under new captain Shubman Gill, is set to commence their IPL 2024 campaign with a match against five-time winners Mumbai Indians. The much-awaited contest will be staged at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on March 24.
