Recently, he received lot of criticism for his comments on taking away captaincy from Rohit Sharma if he is not available for the opening Test match in Perth. He made those remarks on SportsTak, and various media outlets have used it to their convenience in the last few days.
Many fake and toxic fans on social media have also used it quite a lot and a website called Cricket Ception has now published a article named 'A New Era in Leadership: Bumrah’s Captaincy and Kohli’s Leadership Revive Team India' that has created a huge controversy. Interestingly, the website has published the article in the name of great Sunil Gavaskar. The article states that Virat Kohli and Bumrah are taking India back to great days in Test cricket with their aggression and passion and it criticised Rohit Sharma's captaincy skills.

However, Sunil Gavaskar has now released a video clip of his where he is stating that he has not written any article for Cricket Ception and it completely fake. The Indian legend stated that he will take action against the outlet if they do not take down the article quickly and apologise for their big mistake.
