New developments have taken place in the major controversy occured on day 1 of the second Test between India and Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The Bangladeshi fan named 'Robi' has confessed that the crowd in UP did not beat him up. 

Earlier in the day, a video went viral where a Bangladeshi fan claimed to be beaten up by hecklers present in the stadium. There were reports that the fans beat him up and even snatched a Bangladeshi flag from him. The police escorted him outside the stadium and took him to a local hospital. 

The fans were criticised on the internet for his actions and even compared it to the one that occurred in Pune during the 2023 World Cup. But, in the latest events, the local police confirmed that 'Robi' was not beaten but rather fell ill due to dehydration. 

Fan Falls Ill Because Of Dehydration

Several media houses have reported that the Bangladeshi fan fell ill, and even the fan himself spoke to PTI, where he opened up on his health, deteriorating while watching the action on day 1. 

"My health deteriorated and police brought me to the hospital for treatment. I am feeling better now," says Bangladeshi fan 'Tiger Robi'. 


Even RevSportz, who were one of the initial media houses to report that the fan was beaten up in the stadium, confirmed that the Bangladeshi tiger fell ill. 

In fact, Boria Majumdar, a leading sports editor, claimed that he spoke to a few of his Bangladeshi reporter friends and learned that Roby has a habit of dramatics and creating a nuisance. 

"While we condemn any act of physical harm on any fan, now it comes to light basis @shamik100 that this fan has a habit of trying to be an attention seeker. Bangladesh journalists have confirmed that to @RevSportzGlobal"

Shedding some light on the match, rain played a spoilsport, and the action could not resume after lunch. Bangladesh are 107/3, with Akash Deep taking two wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin registering one to his name.
