The Hundred 2025 is set to begin in the month of August but the buzz has already started for the new season of the innovative tournament. Some of the world's best players have registered themselves for the draft as the new season will witness new players join the league.

The Pakistan stars, including Saim Ayub also put forward their names for the mega event, however, eyebrows were raised when Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam, two of their biggest stars were missing from the draft list.

Why no Shaheen, Babar in The Hundred draft?

Workload management of both the players

Both the star players are key for Pakistan across formats and Pakistan cricket want to manage their workload accordingly. Over the last few years, Shaheen has suffered numerous injuries and PCB don't want him to get injured ahead of important tournaments like the Asia Cup, which will take place in September this year.

Pakistan will play Vs West Indies during The Hundred 2025

The Hundred will begin on August 5, and at that time, Pakistan will play against West Indies away from home.

Their T20I series against the Windies will start from July 31, and the ODI Series will commence on August 8. Pakistan know that the two players are out of utmost importance for the series and they wouldn't want the stars to drain out their energy in The Hundred competition, which holds little to no meaning for their upcoming preparations.
