Ex-RCB Star Among Three Key Signings By Sunrisers Eastern Cape For SA20 2025

Ahead of SA20 2025, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, who won the first two seasons of the premier T20 league in South Africa, announced three major signings for the next season.

On Tuesday, July 30, Sunrisers Eastern Cape took to Twitter to announce the signing of Roelof Van der Merwe, Craig Overton, and Zak Crawley. 

Talking about Roelof Van der Merwe, then he is one of the key figures behind the Sunrisers' success in SA20, as he is their leading wicket-taker in the tournament. 

Notably, Merwe has taken 20 wickets, which includes the figures of 6/22. "๐‡๐ž'๐ฌ ๐›๐š๐œ๐ค. ๐‡๐„'๐’ ๐๐€๐‚๐Š. ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐จ๐  ๐ข๐ฌ ๐›๐š๐œ๐ค," wrote Sunrisers on their Twitter handle. 

Meanwhile, Craig Overton, who is shining in the Hundred right now, will also return to Sunrisers Eastern Cape, as he was ruled out of SA 2024 because of injury.

Meanwhile, it will be Zak Crawley's first stint with Sunrisers EasternCape for SA20. 

"I've always wanted to be a good white-ball player. I'm trying to add a few other shots to my game, but I feel like it's quite suited and I've gone well in T20 cricket in the past when I've had a run at it. I'm trying to add a bit more power to my game, I'm working hard in the nets trying a few different things to hopefully hit more and bigger sixes," remarked Crawley.
