TRT vs BPH: Team Previews

Trent Rockets

Led by Lewis Gregory, Trent Rockets have been clinical in the tournament, occupying the second position in the points table with two consecutive wins.

After crushing Northern Superchargers by 47 runs, the Rockets secured a thrilling one-run win over Manchester Originals in the seventh fixture of the tournament.

Amid the torrid runs of Adam Lyth and Alex Hales, Tom Banton has been the lone shining light in the Rockets' batting lineup.

Sam Hain, who played a crucial knock against the Superchargers, will play a key role in the middle-order alongside Rovman Powell.

Imad Wasim and skipper Lewis Gregory are their key all-rounders along with Rashid Khan, who recently enjoyed stellar success in the MLC 2024. The eyes will also be on Luke Wood and Jordan Thompson, who are expected to be vital with the ball.

Birmingham Phoenix

On the other hand, Birmingham Phoenix had a forgettable start to The Hundred 2024, losing the tournament opener against the defending champions, Oval Invincibles.

However, they made a tremendous comeback, securing a fighting three-wicket win over London Spirit in their subsequent clash.

The Phoenix will be boosted by the return of Chris Woakes, the in-form Jamie Smith and Ben Duckett, who missed the initial games due to national commitment.

Apart from these three players, skipper Moeen Ali holds the key for Birmingham alongside Liam Livingstone, who has had a quiet tournament.

Meanwhile, Birmingham's bowling department looks potent, studded with Sean Abbott, Adam Milne and Tim Southee. However, Milne might face the axe if Woakes returns to the XI for this match.

TRT vs BPH: Trent Bridge pitch report

The surface at Trent Bridge in Nottingham will be favourable to batters and spinners. It will likely be a dry track, as the pacers will rely on cutters and variations to succeed. Although the teams might be tempted to bowl first, don't be surprised if the toss-winner bats considering the dryness of the pitch.
