The St. Kitts and Nevis Partiots and the St. Lucia Kings faced off in one of the best CPL matches. It was the fifth match of the CPL 2024 at the Warner Park in St. Kitts, West Indies. 

The Patriots were put to bat first in the game by Faf du Plessis, after he won the toss. The Patriots lost an wicket early, but Evin Lewis and Kyle Mayers changed the game around for them. The duo took full toll on the bowlers of St.Lucia and progressed towards a formidable total.

Record breaking effort by Lewis and Mayers

Evin Lewis eventually remained unbeaten on 100 off 54 deliveries, while Mayers fell short of the three figure mark by just eight runs. During their stay in the middle, Mayers and Lewis stitched together a stellar partnership of 199 runs. Notably, this became the highest ever partnership in the history of CPL for any wicket.

Coming back to the game, the stellar partnership between Lewis and Mayers helped the Patriots post a forimable total of 201 runs on the board at the end of their 20 overs. 

Seifert and Rajapaksa stage the most dramatic comeback for the Kings

It looked like a tough total to chase for the St. Lucia Kings, especially after they lost four wickets for 24 runs inside the fourth over of the innings. However, Tim Seifert led the comeback for the Kings with a brilliant 64 off 27 balls. Bhanuka Rajapaksa (68 off 35) combined with him to stage one of the most dramatic comebacks of T20 cricket.

The effort of the duo ensured Kings achieved the target losing five wickets with 16 balls remaining in the game.
