Virat Kohli, who recently stepped away from Test cricket along with Rohit Sharma, is currently spending good family time in London. But even during his break from the game, Kohli made time to catch up with some of his India teammates.
Virat Kohli Spends Time With Gill, Pant And Siraj In London
As per a report by RevSportz, Virat invited only a few select players to his home in London for a casual get-together. Those who joined him included India’s new Test captain Shubman Gill, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, and fast bowler Mohammed Siraj. It wasn’t a team meeting, just an informal evening where the players relaxed and enjoyed some quality time with their senior.
Meanwhile, the Indian team has now left London for Leeds, where they’ll play the first Test match of the series against England. The match will be held at Headingley from June 20.
Notably, this series is extra special, it’s the beginning of a new chapter for Indian cricket. With Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli retiring from Tests, and Ravichandran Ashwin retiring from international cricket, the responsibility now lies on the shoulders of 25-year-old Shubman Gill, who is leading a fresh-looking Indian side.
Before taking charge of the Test team, Shubman Gill had a brief yet promising experience as captain of India’s T20 side. He led the team in a five-match series against Zimbabwe in 2024, where India won four games and lost just one. With an impressive 80% win rate, Gill gave a strong early sign of his leadership qualities and ability to handle pressure.
The five-match Test series against England will take place from June to August 2025, with games scheduled at iconic stadiums such as Headingley (Leeds), Edgbaston (Birmingham), Lord’s, followed by the fourth Test at The Oval (London), and Old Trafford (Manchester).
