Dinesh Karthik Set To Represent Paarl Royals In SA20; Becomes First India To Do So

Former India cricketer, and RCB legend, Dinesh Karthik is set to represent the Paarl Royals franchise in the 2025 edition of the SA20 in South Africa.

He will become the first Indian cricketer to play in the premium competition in South Africa, which started nearly two years ago.

Karthik to represent Paarl Royals

Karthik, a T20 veteran announced his T20 retirement, and last featured for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2024. Recently, he was appointed as the brand ambassador for SA20 tournament, alongside his former RCB teammate, AB de Villiers.

DK, as he is often referred to, was appointed the RCB batting coach, last month, and now apart from being a coach, the former India star will also represent his nation in South Africa’s premium T20 tournament.

Apart from RCB, Karthik has also represented KKR, Gujarat Lions, Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, and Punjab Kings in the IPL. Moreover, he also plays for Tamil Nadu in India’s domestic competitions.

Apart from Karthik, Paarl Royals have also acquired the services of England batter, Joe Root for the upcoming season.

In 401 T20 matches, the India legend has accumulated 7407 runs, at a strike-rate of 136.96, with the highest score of 97*.
