Waqar Younis, the legendary ex-Pakistan cricketer, has taken on a pivotal role as the newest advisor for Cricket Affairs to Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. His wealth of experience and knowledge is set to make a significant impact on the future of Pakistani cricket.

During the press conference on Monday, Waqar Younis, in his new role, unveiled three exciting new tournaments that are set to redefine the Men's Domestic Cricket Season 2024-25.

The tournaments will feature five teams- the Dolphins, Lions, Panthers, Stallions, and Wolves. Each event will follow a double-league format, promising intense and thrilling competition.

“We will appoint five legends to head the teams and I am already in touch with some of them,” Waqar said.

I fully support this concept: Waqar Younis

"Cricket's current state is clear: improvements are necessary. While stadiums are important, our focus should be on enhancing the quality of play. Involving renowned cricketers and legends in the process is crucial. The Chairman's idea to involve these figures is excellent, and we've discussed it with some legends. We'll soon announce the names of those who will help advance the sport. I fully support this concept and hope it succeeds," he added.

"Cricket remains our product, and we have to play good cricket to maintain our brand. All rest comes later," he said.

The conference concluded with his remarks on how he wants to play good cricket in order to maintain our brand.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is gearing up for their upcoming  Bangladesh series starting on August 21.
