India's young wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel grabbed the limelight through a heartfelt post for his competitor Rishabh Pant ahead of India's first Test against Bangladesh at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Jurel became a household name following his extraordinary performances in the England home series. Besides scoring valuable runs down the order, Jurel was agile as a gloveman, claiming some spectacular catches behind the stumps.

However, with Rishabh Pant returning to India's Test side, Jurel is highly unlikely to feature in the series opener against Bangladesh. But despite making way for Pant, the youngster has a lot of respect for the swashbuckling southpaw, as he cherished his moments with the Delhi cricketer during India's practice session.

Taking to his official handle on the social media platform Instagram, Jurel posted a picture of himself with Pant, with a caption, "Rishabh Pant ✨".

Despite Pant and Jurel competing for the same role, the latter's heartwarming gesture showcased their mutual respect and camaraderie. The RR batter, who recently suffered a slump in form during the Duleep Trophy, fine-tuned his batting and keeping by using Pant's valuable tips in the practice session.

Rishabh Pant's Importance For India In Bangladesh Tests

Rishabh Pant, who missed plenty of action due to a life-threatening accident, finally made his Test comeback when India announced their squad for the Bangladesh series. Considering his past heroics and recent form in the red-ball format, Pant is expected to play a crucial role for India in the high-octane series.

He will bat in the middle order and can change the course of the game quickly with his scintillating stroke play. Besides slamming crucial runs down the order, Pant can be instrumental behind the stumps, as he has one of the safest pair of hands among the modern-day wicket-keepers.
