Indian captain Rohit Sharma heaped praise on youngsters- Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan- ahead of the much-awaited Test series against Bangladesh on home soil. Led by Rohit, India are all set to kick off their home season with a high-voltage two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

The series holds significant importance for them, as it gives them a golden opportunity to boost their chances to enter the WTC final for the third straight occasion. Before the first Test at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Rohit attended a press conference and answered several questions on India's preparations and potential combination. He also lauded Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan, as the trio has an insatiable appetite for success.

The Indian captain highlighted Jaiswal and Jurel's recent performances while praising Sarfaraz for his fearless approach.

"Don’t need to speak too much to them. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel are new to Test cricket. We have seen what we can do with the bat and Jurel with the bat and behind the stumps. They can play all three formats. It all depends on what you think in your mind as well. They are very hungry to play cricket for India, there’s hunger for success," Rohit stated.

"Jaiswal had a very good series last time. Jurel got runs under pressure. Sarfaraz Khan is fearless, not worrying too much about what happens outside. You need all sorts of players who are fearless, cautious and responsible as well. We have that mix of everything and it’s a good sign," he added.

Rohit Sharma To Pick Three Spinners For Chennai Test

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian think tank might consider playing three spinners in the first Test against Bangladesh. According to several reports, ace wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav could be preferred over experienced all-rounder Axar Patel for the series opener. Among others, Rohit will play a pivotal role alongside Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, while the eyes will also be on Rishabh Pant, who will play his first Test after a long hiatus.
