Punjab Kings spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will likely be making his return to the team for the second qualifier match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday, June 1. The cricketer has missed Punjab Kings’ last three matches, including the first qualifier against RCB in Mullanpur, owing to a finger injury.
Recent reports indicate that Chahal has now been considered fit enough to take field against Mumbai Indians at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Massive boost for Punjab Kings before MI game
Yuzvendra Chahal, who holds a formidable track record against T20 veterans like Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya, will likely be making his return for Punjab Kings this IPL 2025 season for the second qualifier against Mumbai Indians. As reported by RevSportz, the cricketer has attained full recovery from the finger injury he sustained earlier in May.
The 34-year-old has so far played 12 matches this IPL 2025, picking up 14 wickets in the process at an average of 25.28. Notably, he has plucked 12 wickets in his last six innings itself at a strike rate of just 11.
Yuzvendra Chahal has taken two four-wicket hauls this season, against the likes of CSK and defending champions KKR in match-winning causes. Moreover, Chahal’s four-fer against KKR helped Punjab Kings successfully defending a mere 111-run total back on April 15 in New Chandigarh.
The Punjab Kings franchise, under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, will face Mumbai Indians on Sunday, June 1 in Ahmedabad. The action is slated to commence from 7:30 PM IST onwards.
The winner of the match will meet the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the same venue a couple of days later for the IPL 2025 final.
