Mayank Yadav- (Source:@Crixbuzz/X.com)
In a significant development, there are reports from Mykhel that Lucknow Super Giants contacted NCA to declare star seamer Mayank Yadav unfit for the entire season. It is worth noting that Yadav, who was retained by LSG for 11 crores, is reported to be out for the first half of IPL 2025.
Mayank is suffering from a back injury, and now the LSG management are sweating hard in panic as they lack a quality seam bowling line-up. Not just Mayank, but Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan, two of LSG's prominent seamers, are also at the NCA, awaiting the green light to feature in their opening match against Delhi Capitals on March 24.
LSG Reportedly Contacts NCA For Mayank Yadav
Talking about Mayank, according to a BCCI official and a report from MyKhel, the LSG officials contacted doctors at NCA so that Mayank can be ruled out of IPL and they can be name a replacement for the entire season.
At present, the IPL rules doesn't allow a franchise to name a replacement for a player who is injured but not ruled out of the tournament. Thus, LSG contacted the doctors. However, the management has refuted such reports and claims.
"This is the first time that an IPL team is demanding such a weird request. Even the NCA guys are in a state of shock after hearing the request," a BCCI source said.
LSG are sweating hard because if Mayank, Mohsin, and Avesh all three fail to feature in the first match of IPL 2025 against Delhi Capitals, then they only has Akash Deep as the sole star bowler.
