Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history as he was fetched by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the mega auction. He has been a proven match-winner for Delhi Capitals in the IPL and has the ability to turn the tides with his explosive power.

LSG showed a lot of faith in the youngster and decided to reward him with the LSG captaincy as well. However, Pant now needs to repay the faith with stellar performances and here are 3 matches in particular where the talented batter can stamp his authority.

1) Royal Challengers Bengaluru (April 10)

The RCB Vs LSG has become a mini rivalry in the past couple of seasons and Pant could be the one to spice things up when the two sides will clash on April 10 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The RCB stadium is known to be a batting paradise and Pant can be the one to exploit the conditions against a not so fancy RCB attack.

As the stats suggests, Pant has an excellent record against the Royal Challengers, amassing 421 runs, but most importantly, he has a strike-rate of 150. The RCB bowling lacks the variation to trouble the LSG skipper and he could be the chief tormentor on April 10 at the Chinnaswamy.

2) Chennai Super Kings (April 5)

On April 5, Pant will be up against the team of his mentor, MS Dhoni at his own den. Pant is a supreme hitter of spin bowling and CSK has plethora of them as the LSG captain will fancy his chances in the titanic clash.

(Pant stats Vs CSK in IPL)

As the numbers state, Pant has a terrific record against CSK, scoring 375 runs in just 11 matches and has a strike-rate of 156.90. April 5 will still be early days in the tournament and if Pant fires all guns blazing, it might set the tempo for his new franchise. He may not have the big scores against CSK, but Pant has played many crucial knocks and became a headache for MSD.

3) Sunrisers Hyderabad (May 5)

A team against whom Rishabh Pant scored a terrific hundred, Sunrisers Hyderabad will need to be wary of Pant storm on a placid wicket at the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad. The Hyderabad wicket suits the batters and Pant will look to tear down his favourite opposition in their own backyard.

In the 2018 season, he scored a brilliant 128* against them and since then, has always delivered the goods against Sunrisers. This game will be towards the business end of the tournament and if Pant goes berserk, he could fire LSG to a victory against one of the favourites for the IPL title.
