Tension between India and Pakistan continue to mount as Champions Trophy future hangs in jeopardy. With just a couple of months left for the mega event, there is an internal tussle taking place between BCCI and PCB, and it has hampered the entire tournament.
As a result of this ongoing problems between the two board, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to conduct an emergency meeting with the two boards on November 26, Tuesday to decide the future of Champions Trophy hosting.
As per Sports Tak, the representatives from both the boards will come together to resolve the issues and decide on the fate of the tournament.
India say no to Pakistan travel
A few weeks ago, the BCCI gave their verdict and decided not to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. As per the Indian government, travelling to Pakistan is unsafe and security reasons has been cited as the main reason for India's refusal to come.
India are adamant on the hybrid model, while Pakistan are focused on having the entire event in their country. This has created a ruckus and ICC has decided to solve the issue by having an emergency meeting with them.
ICC to act as mediator between the two boards
During the meeting, ICC will try and act as the mediator between BCCI and PCB. The idea of the meeting is to come to the same page and one of the solutions ICC will propose is to have the hybrid model in place.
However, as per reports, Pakistan will straightaway reject this idea as they feel it would demean their hosting rights and will tarnish their image.
