In a groundbreaking development, the ICC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Geoff Allardice assured Pakistan that the PCB is still projected as the only host of the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. The decision remains intact despite BCCI's continuous hint for not travelling to their neighbouring country due to political tussles.

Geoff Allardice Assures PCB For Champions Trophy 2025

While communicating with the media, Geoff confirmed that there is no change in plan regarding the Champions Trophy hosting rights, with Pakistan’s three venues—Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore—being confirmed as the host venues. India’s matches, meanwhile, are scheduled to take place in Lahore only.

Further, Geoff also mentioned that barring India, all participating teams are ready to be on the same page with Pakistan to play there. They are not too worried about previous happenings in Pakistan, and hence, would love to travel there when the tournament begins on February 19. The Tournament, meanwhile, is projected to conclude on March 9.

Who Have Qualified For The Champions Trophy 2025?

Along with Pakistan, India, Australia, New Zealand, England, South Africa, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are the eighth participating teams in the Champions Trophy 2025. On the other hand, Sri Lanka and the West Indies are among the nations who won’t be competing in the tournament. More significantly, considering Jay Shah, the latest BCCI Secretary, being appointed as the ICC chairman lately, tensions arose about whether Pakistan would have the hosting rights for the elite competition any longer.

Pakistan are already on a mission to rebuild their three stadiums picked for the Champions Trophy 2025. Notably, the Men In Green are the defending champions of the tournament, having won it back in 2017 by defeating India in the final.
