The 14th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 will take place between the St Lucia Kings and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots from the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet.

The two teams collided in the 5th match of the tournament on September 2, and the fans witnessed a classic with St Lucia Kings prevailing by 5-wickets in a high-scoring contest.

Despite struggling to chase down a total of 201, St Lucia Kings rose from the Ashes and both Tim Seifert and Bhanuka Rajapaksa played blinders to steal the show for his side as they won a nail-biting contest.

Interestingly, both the sides are struggling in the points table. St Lucia, with just 2 wins are placed at the second last position, while Nevis Patriots are tottering at the last spot.

With that being said, let us look at the Daren Sammy pitch conditions which could decide the fate of the contest.

Daren Sammy National Stadium Pitch Report: Tricky surface for batters

So far, two matches have taken place at this venue, and both have had contrasting fortunes. In the first game between St Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors, the home side were bundled out for a paltry 100, and lost the match in a one-sided contest.

In the second match at this venue, it was a high-scoring affair, with St Lucia Kings piling on 187/6, and the target was once again chased easily with TKR winning with 4-wickets.

An observation can be made that the pitch tends to get better as the game progresses. The surface is a touch tricky in the first innings, but it gets better as the game progresses. So, win the toss and bowl first will be the decision that the captain's will make.
