The England team is scheduled to travel to Pakistan for a 3-match Test series, but now the tour hangs in jeopardy, with the latest reports surfacing that the entire Test series could be moved out of Pakistan.

UAE, Sri Lanka potential venues for Pakistan-England Tests

Almost all the stadiums in Pakistan are getting renovated for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, including Karachi and Multan, where the Test matches are scheduled to take place. As a result, PCB faces race against time to find a solution, with just a month left for the start of the tour.

In the recently concluded series against Bangladesh, Rawalpindi hosted the first Test match, and Karachi Stadium was the venue for the second game. However, due to construction work going on for the Champions Trophy 2025, the Test was shifted to Rawalpindi.

As per reports, UAE and Sri Lanka are the two potential options for the Test matches to be hosted.

One obstacle that PCB could face is that during the same period, the Women's T20 World Cup would be taking place in UAE (Dubai and Sharjah). So, the Test matches can't take place in those two venues, that leaves them with only one option - Abu Dhabi, which has previously hosted Test matches for Pakistan.

Champions Trophy in jeopardy?

With hardly 6 months left for the mega event to begin in Pakistan, the stadiums are not yet ready. The facilities in Pakistan are not world-class to host any ICC event, and PCB Chief, Mohsin Naqvi has fast-tracked the construction work for the stadiums to be ready for the Champions Trophy.

But stadium construction is no easy job and with just 6 months left, there is a growing concern that the world-class amenities, which the PCB had promised, won't be ready by the time Champions Trophy begins.
