In a significant development, the PCB has reportedly agreed to a hybrid model but put forward a special condition in front of the ICC. Amid the tussle between the two boards, it looks like finally a decision is set to come as PTI reported that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has bowed down to BCCI's demands.
The two boards were set to hold an emergency meeting on November 29, but the meeting was adjourned twice. In the latest events, the PTI reported that PCB has agreed to a hybrid model but put a condition that all ICC events should follow the same till 2031.
Pakistan To Not Travel To India For T20 World Cup 2026
The stipulation put forward by Mohsin Naqvi is a clear indication that Pakistan would boycott future ICC events in India and opt for a hybrid model. Notably, India will host the 2026 T20 World Cup, and if India opt for the hybrid model, then Pakistan will do the same.
Nonetheless, the official announcement is expected to be made by November 30 night or in the early hours of December 1. Further, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and BCCI secretary Jay Shah are also in Dubai, watching the ongoing U-19 Asia Cup in Dubai.
India To Face Pakistan In Dubai
Talking about Dubai, once the hybrid model becomes official, India will square off against Pakistan in Dubai. Earlier, Pakistan had proposed all India games to be held in Lahore. Further, the PCB has also nearly renovated all the three venues for Champions Trophy 2025.
The schedule is yet to be out and it is to be seen whether India will play all their games in Dubai or travel across UAE.
