Rishabh Pant was at the peak of his powers in the ongoing Test against England, and every time he stepped onto the field, the maverick batter became a pain for the England bowlers.. However, on Wednesday, things turned bad for the Indian keeper as he suffered a broken toe injury, and was carried off the field by the team physio.
The batter was sent for scans, and as per reports, Pant would be out for at least 6 weeks, meaning that his journey in the ongoing series will come to an end. When Pant got retired hurt on Day 1, few would have expected him to come out to bat on the following day. But the India star showed grit and determination and walked out to bat, showcasing his resilience.

On December 30, 2022, Pant was going to his hometown in Roorkee when his car disbalanced and crashed into a divider, causing him severe injuries. It was a life-threatening injury, and Pant miraculously survived. However, he suffered major injuries, including a dislocated knee, skin burns, and ankle injury.
He underwent a vigorous rehab process which kept him out of the game for 1.5 years, as he made his return to Cricket during IPL 2024 season.
In the ongoing Test series against England, Pant gave a mini scare to the Indian team, when he injured his thumb while trying to stop a ball from Jasprit Bumrah. He didn't keep wickets for the entire game, and only played as a pure batter.
