On Sunday, June 8, India dealt a heavy blow as Rishabh Pant took a nasty blow on his left arm during their first training session. The star keeper-batter complained of serious pain, which led to the team physio treating him with an ice pack. Pant also got his arm bandaged and didn't take part in the remainder of the training session.

Rishabh Pant Recovers From Blow In Training

The blow left the fans worried about Pant, who will act as Shubman Gill's deputy. In the latest events, Revsportz reported that the southpaw is fit and took part in the training session on Monday, June 9.

According to the report, Pant took throw downs, batted in the nets where he faced spinners and then the pacers during a training session. Further, India head coach Gautam Gambhir also interacted with him and provided his inputs. Meanwhile, Pant confirmed that he is fine and wasn't troubled by the knock. Contrary to reports, the 27-year-old will feature in the first Test against England.

Pant Looking To Brush Aside IPL Woes

Rishabh is tasked with a big responsibility ahead of the upcoming tour as he has been appointed India's new vice-captain. The southpaw had a terrible IPL season, where he amassed just 269 runs in 13 innings, despite scoring a century in the last league stage match.

Contrary to his white-ball performance, Pant has done well in Tests and continues to be one of the key batters in the team. Notably, the southpaw was also said to be in contention for the captaincy race, but the management went ahead with Shubman Gill.

Notably, Rishabh Pant will don a dual hat in the upcoming tour as he will also keep gloves, which is why a blow on the arm left the fans concerned.
