In a big positive development for all the cricket fans in Bengaluru, it has been understood that M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has still not been removed as one of the venues for the Women's World Cup 2025. There were earlier reports that M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will not host matches of the Women's T20 World Cup, and the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram is the front-runner to replace Bengaluru's iconic ground.

M. Chinnaswamy To Still Host Women's World Cup 2025 Matches?

However, Gaurav Gupta, the Senior Assistant Editor at The Times of India, has now revealed that the board has still not finalised the decision to move Women's World Cup 2025 matches out of Bengaluru. Gaurav Gupta, on his official X handle, has stated that he has got the news from a BCCI source.

The decision to remove M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as one of the host venues for the tournament reportedly came after KSCA failed to get permission from the government to host matches. The Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru came under fire after a deadly stampede around the stadium during RCB's IPL 2025 celebration. The Chinnaswamy Stadium has also been excluded from the list of venues for the Maharaja Trophy.

However, with the BCCI still undecided over taking the matches away from Bengaluru to Thiruvanthapuram, there are chances that Chinnaswamy might get another chance. However, there could also be a possibility that BCCI might choose another city in place of Thiruvanthapuram as Bengaluru's replacement.

Four Indian, One Sri Lankan City To Host Women's World Cup 2025 Matches

The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is scheduled to host the tournament's curtain raiser and many other important group stage matches. It is also the venue for semifinal 2 and will host the final if Pakistan do not qualify.

The tournament will start on September 30, and the final will be played on November 2. Along with Bengaluru, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Colombo are the other host cities for the Women's World Cup 2025.
