According to the latest reports, the BCCI selection committee will soon announce India's squad for the upcoming England Tests. After the IPL 2025, the Indian players will depart to the European country for a five-match Test series against the host nation.
Rohit Sharma's IPL 2025 Performance To Decide His Test Future
Indian captain Rohit Sharma had a disastrous Border-Gavaskar Trophy, managing only 31 runs in five innings at a horrendous average of 6.20. His lean patch in Tests forced the Indian skipper to sit out of the final BGT Test in Sydney.
According to Cricbuzz, Rohit's place in the Indian Test side is uncertain. In fact, the selectors will take a call on his participation in the England Tests after the ongoing Indian Premier League season. If Rohit's bat does the talking, he might be chosen to lead India in the England series.
India To Face India A In Closed-Door Practice Match
The report also states that India will take on India-A in a practice game before the first Test at Headingley in Leeds. However, it will be a closed-door warm-up match at Beckenham, a ground under Kent County Cricket Club's jurisdiction. Sources have claimed that the visitors will use this particular venue to fine-tune themselves for the high-voltage tour.
However, the closed-door contest between the senior and A-side of the Indian team won't likely be televised live through the live streaming and broadcasting platforms.
