According to emerging reports, veteran batter Karun Nair is all set to be included in India A squad for the upcoming tour of England. It's worth mentioning that the India A team will face the England Lions in two red-ball matches before the commencement of the senior team's five-match Test series against the host nation.

Karun Nair Likely To Be Rewarded For Domestic Heroics

According to the Press Trust of India (PTI), the BCCI selection committee is impressed with Nair's extraordinary performances in the domestic circuit. In nine Ranji Trophy matches, Nair hammered 863 runs, including four centuries and two half-centuries at a marvellous average of 53.93.

So, as the report claims, he seems one of the frontrunners for a spot in the A side that will take on the England Lions in two four-day matches prior to the hectic tour.

Rohit, Kohli To Play For A Team To Regain Form

The report states that legendary batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli could represent the A side to regain form ahead of the England series. Both these batters had a forgettable time in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.

While Kohli struck 190 runs at an average of 23.75, Rohit exhibited horrendous batting form, managing only 31 runs at an average of 6.20.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has also kept an eye on Jasprit Bumrah's recovery status. The ace speedster was ruled out of the Champions Trophy and hasn't played the IPL 2025 so far due to a back injury. If he doesn't recover in time, it will be a headache for the selectors to find a quality alternative for him before the England Tests.
