BCCI announces Rs. 51 crores cash prize for India Women’s team
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash prize of Rs. 51 crores for the Indian Women’s team for winning the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup by defeating South Africa in the final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. While speaking with the ANI, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the same, and compared the Indian women’s success with that of India’s 1983 World Cup win under the leadership of Kapil Dev.
Perrin and Wong to join Melbourne Renegades for WBBL 2025-26
The Melbourne Renegades Women’s team has recruited England Women cricketers Davina Perrin and Issy Wong for the upcoming WBBL 2025-26 season starting later this month. While Wong will be making her return to the WBBL after playing the 2021-22 edition for Sydney Thunder, Perrin will be making her tournament debut, doing so as an injury replacement for legendary West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews. The WBBL 2025-26 season is scheduled to launch from November 9 onwards at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane.
Marnus Labuschagne strengthens Ashes bid with One-Day Cup ton
Marnus Labuschagne crafted 101 runs from 111 balls against New South Wales bowlers in match 13 of the Australian One-Day Cup 2025 season. Leading Queensland and batting at number three, Labuschagne notched up his sixth List A century and his third of the ongoing 50-overs tournament itself.
Moreover, the innings also marked his fifth 100-plus score in just eight innings in this Australian domestic season, which includes a couple of red-ball centuries against Tasmania and South Australia in the 2025-26 Sheffield Shield season, as the seasoned pro continues to strengthen his bid for a national recall ahead of the 2025-26 Ashes series.
WI drop Motie, recall Matthew Forde for NZ T20I series
Cricket West Indies (CWI) unveiled a 15-player West Indies squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand. While ace spinner Gudakesh Motie was dropped from the team following his dip in form, the board recalled fast bowler Matthew Forde after the latter recovered from his shoulder injury. Senior pro Shai Hope will continue to lead the West Indies team in the series after his success in Bangladesh, and he will be joined by fellow star T20I performers like Jason Holder, Roston Chase, Brandon King, Rovman Powell among others.
Tom Moody to join LSG for IPL 2026: Report
Former Australian all-rounder and ex-SRH coach Tom Moody will reportedly be joining the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise as their Global Director of Cricket for next year’s IPL 2026 season. Moody’s newfound role will allow him to oversee the cricketing operations across all of RPSG Group’s franchises like LSG in IPL, Durban’s Super Giants in SA20, and the Manchester Originals in The Hundred. He will be joining fellow former Australian cricketer Justin Langer, who will continue to remain as the head coach of the LSG franchise.
