Amidst the political turmoil, the Bangladesh cricket team has left for Pakistan for a two-match Test series, starting August 21.

Due to the ongoing violence in Bangladesh, there were speculations that the series against Pakistan could be called-off, but the visitors have been assured of getting all the training facilities in Rawalpindi, where the first Test match is scheduled to take place. The Tigers will train in a peaceful environment, far away from the chaos that has been caused in their nation.

It was PCB's proposal that the Bangladesh team arrive early, and they will get all the help needed from the Pakistan board, an offer which the BCB accepted.

At the airport, the players looked in jovial mood, and old faces could be seen, getting ready for the Test series. Taskin Ahmed, who was out for a while with an injury, marks his return.

Also, Shakib Al Hasan is back in the side, however, he didn't travel with the rest of the squad, as the all-rounder just finished his stint in the Global T20 Canada. BCB announced Bangladesh squad for Pakistan series on Sunday, with no surprising inclusions.

The Tigers are tottering at the second last position in the points table, just above West Indies. The first Test takes place in Rawalpindi, while the second match commences from August 30 in Karachi.
