The 2023 ODI World Cup was supposed to be India's crowning moment, however, the Australian side spoiled the party and won their 6th ODI World title.

It was a heartbreaking moment for the Indian fans, who witnessed their team play sublime cricket throughout the tournament and yet, they failed to win the coveted title. On paper, the Rohit Sharma led side were the best team and should have won the World Cup on November 19, 2023. However, on that fateful day, two batters tormented the Indian side.

Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne, stitched a winning partnership to help the Aussies defeat India by 6-wickets. While Head scored a sublime century to bag the Player of the Match award, Labuschagne, too, played a gritty knock and remained unbeaten on 58 off 110 deliveries.

Almost 8 months after the finale, Labuschagne, has decided to part ways with the bat, with which he scored the winning runs Vs India in the finals. Sharing the picture of his worn out bat on X, Labuschagne posted a message: "Think it's finally time to retire the World Cup final bat."

The bad looks out of shape, with pieces of wood coming out of it. Talking about the finale, while Head's knock stole the show, Labuschagne also played a crucial knock, considering the match situation.

Australia lost 3 early wickets, and the partnership with Head was important in securing the World Championship for the Aussies.
