Australian opener David Warner pumped out 53 runs for his side in their huge defeat to India in Indore. While the cricketer whacked seven boundaries and a six in his knock, the highlight of his innings came when he switched his stance to become a temporary right-handed batter.

At one stage, Warner even managed to put Ravichandran Ashwin away for a boundary with his non-preferred batting style. However, his right-handed diligence also became his undoing when Ashwin trapped him in front of stumps to worsen Australia’s run-chase troubles at 100-4.

Regardless of the outcome, David Warner took to his Instagram account after the match and shared a picture of himself of batting right-handed against Ashwin. Apparently, his post ended up confusing many including India’s badminton star PV Sindhu.

PV Sindhu responds to David Warner’s post

Indian badminton ace PV Sindhu reacted to David Warner’s right-handed batting post on Instagram. The 28-year-old, seemingly unaware about what transpired in the match, admitted her confusion about Warner’s newfound batting style. She wrote:

“I was so confused why you are playing right-handed 🤣🙈”

Meanwhile, David Warner’s Australian teammate Sean Abbott himself clarified that the opening batsman switched his stance in a bid to counter Ravichandran Ashwin’s spin on the surface.

The speedster further claimed that batting as a right-hander was not something new for Warner as he regularly practises the technique the nets. Abbott added that the legendary Australian opener also plays golf as a right-hander.
