Pakistan speedster Shaheen Afridi got married to former captain Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha Afridi earlier this year. However, the two hosted a grand wedding reception ceremony once again in September, following the conclusion of Pakistan’s disastrous Asia Cup 2023 campaign in Sri Lanka.

After grabbing headlines for his hot-and-cold performance at the continental event this month, the cricketer found himself back in the spotlight once again, but this time for a hilariously unexpected reason following his wedding reception.

Apparently, Shaheen Afridi was so excited about the festivities that he congratulated himself on his own Facebook post. The comment caught everyone’s eyes and it soon went viral across social media.

Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi’s wedding reception was a star-studded affair in Islamabad. His captain Babar Azam among other national teammates attended the ceremony, as several ‘Men in Green’ players bonded over the occasion ahead of the forthcoming 2023 World Cup in India.

After the event, Shaheen took to his social media accounts and thanked everyone for their wishes. The cricketer further shared pictures from the ceremony, which even featured his father-in-law, Shahid Afridi.

In a hilarious incident that captured everybody’s attention, Shaheen took to his Facebook account and congratulated himself in the comment section of his post. The 23-year-old wrote: “Congratulations Bhai”.

Regardless, Shaheen Afridi will now donning his national jersey once again at the upcoming 2023 World Cup in India. Under Babar Azam, the ‘Men in Green’ are slated to commence their tournament campaign with a match against Netherlands on October 6 in Hyderabad.
