David Warner left everyone in splits on Sunday (September 24) by batting right-handed against India in the second ODI of the three-match series at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. The Aussie opener even smashed a wonderful four in the manner, but the entertainment did not last long as he fell to Ravichandran Ashwin a few balls later.

It was a tossed-up delivery by Ashwin, which was around the off-stump line for Warner. The Aussie attempted a reverse sweep but did not get the timing right. A loud appeal from the Men in Blue came as soon as the ball hit Warner’s pad, and the on-field umpire raised his finger to give him an out.

After scoring 53 off 39 balls, Warner went to Josh Inglis to have a chat about whether he should take a DRS or not. Warner began to leave for the pavilion while still staring at the umpire after Inglis' unsuccessful attempt to persuade him to challenge the decision.

A twist emerged after the replay. It showed there was a clear inside edge before it hit Warner’s pad, and the decision could have been overturned had Warner sent it upstairs.

At the time of writing, Australia are on the verge of losing the series. They are on 135/7 after 19.5 overs, chasing a revised target of 317 in 33 overs.
