R Ashwin Ready To Leave CSK For IPL 2026: Report
Legendary Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is reportedly seeking clarity from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise for his participation in next year’s IPL 2026 season, as per an ESPNCricinfo report. The cricketer was acquired by CSK during the IPL 2025 mega auction last year. However, Ashwin played just nine matches in the IPL 2025 season, picking up just seven wickets at an expensive bowling average of 40.42 and aggregating just 33 runs from four innings.
Shami To Audition For Test Comeback In Duleep Trophy: Report
Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami is set to make his return to competitive cricket. The 34-year-old has been included in the East Zone team for the upcoming 2025 Duleep Trophy, where he will play under the leadership of blistering Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan. As per a report, a BCCI source has stated that Shami’s performance in the 2025 Duleep Trophy season will determine his fate for Team India’s Test future. The cricketer played his last Test match for Team India back in June 2023 at The Oval.
Yuvraj Singh, Harmanpreet Kaur Light Up Women’s WC 2025 Event
The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) organised a '50 Days to Go' event in Mumbai to hype up the upcoming 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup. Former Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Mithali Raj as well as ICC Chairman Jay Shah attended the event.
Active Indian women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur and her teammates Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues also graced the ICC event in the city. The occasion also coincided with the launch of the Trophy Tour across tournament host cities in India and Sri Lanka.
RCB’s Mo Bobat Joins London Spirit
Mo Bobat has been appointed as the Director of Cricket of the London Spirit franchise in The Hundred 2025 season, as confirmed by the franchise itself on their official website. The decision was made after US-based tech investment group Tech Titans brought 49 percent stakes and decided to retain the name of the London Spirit franchise. Notably, Mo Bobat also serves the prominent IPL franchise, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Under his tenure, the RCB won the IPL 2025 season a couple of months ago by defeating Punjab Kings at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium in a nail-biting final.
Roston Chase Blanks Pakistan To Level Series For WI
West Indies outclassed Pakistan by five wickets and 10 balls to spare (DLS method) in a rain-marred second ODI of the three-match series in Tarouba. A three-wicket burst from Jayden Seales restricted Pakistan to just 171-7 from 37 overs upfront after a rain delay. Chasing a revised target of 181 from 35 overs, West Indies slipped to 48-3 before Sherfane Rutherford (45 off 33) and Roston Chase (49* off 47) chipped in with valuable runs in a match-winning cause.
Roston also picked up a wicket with the ball to cap a remarkable all-round performance for himself, as West Indies levelled the series to enforce a decider.
