On a day where two IPL (Indian Premier League) veterans collided in the Maharaja T20 Trophy 2025, Mayank Agarwal and Manish Pandey had a day out with the bat. All this happened in the recently concluded game between Bengaluru Blasters and Mysore Warriors in match number 2 in Mysore.
Manish Pandey's Fiery Fireworks Remind Everyone Of His Batting Prowess
In Mysore, the Mysore Warriors batted first and had a poor start with 20/2, but soon after they lost their fourth wicket for 71 and then came the storm of the skipper, Manish Pandey. Pandey came in at sixth position in this game and struck runs at a strike rate of exactly 200.
Runs flew out of his bat as he faced 29 deliveries overall to smack 58 not out with four boundaries and four maximums. He particularly targeted Mohsin Khan, where he smashed two sixes in the 15th over against the pacer.
At the same time, his over to Punith S was the major point of his innings, where he went for two boundaries and a maximum. Pandey's effort took the Warriors to a slightly above-par total of 180 after the end of the 20 overs, while some great support from wicketkeeper Sumit Kumar, who scored 44 not out of 28, helped them achieve this total.
Pandey's knock came on the back of his contract with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), as they must be keenly looking at him for the IPL retentions.
Reliable Mayank Agarwal Let His Bat Do The Talking
In reply, the Bengaluru Blasters had an even poorer start as they were three down for 22 inside four overs. Blasters skipper, Mayank Agarwal, was at the crease as wickets kept tumbling one after the other, while Agarwal kept looking at them in disbelief.
At one stage, they were seven down for 82, when Agarwal decided to take the opportunity as he went on to score 66 off 49 deliveries with five boundaries and two maximums with a strike rate of 134.69 to help Blasters overcome the embarrassment. Although, they lost the game, but still got a respectable total of 141 in the end, as Mysore won by 39 runs.
Agarwal perished in the 19th over to LR Kumar when he went for a big shot and was caught by Krishnappa Gowtham at long off. With the innings of this calibre, Agarwal might just be retained by the IPL 2025 champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the 2026 season.
